Looking for Lily

Earlier this year I had the opportunity to provide the illustrations and book design for Kristy Nita Brown’s debut chapter book Looking for Lily. Although I’ve worked for people all over the world, like me, Kristy is from Perth, so with the addition of a local editor and printer, this is a wholly WA production!

Kristy wanted a show-stopping cover so I pulled out all of the stops to give all the characters a bright pop of colour to help the book stand out on the shelf, and to spark reader imagination to fill in the colours on the internal illustrations, which are of course all black and white.

Below is a selection of some of my favourite internal illustrations, featuring Marri, Talia, Winston and Dawn. Where’s Lily, you ask? Well, you’ll just have to get yourself a copy of the book to find out!

To purchase Looking for Lily, visit Kristy’s website at kristynitabrown.com

there’s a limited-edition run of signed, numbered copies up for grabs!

And in celebration of the release this week, I’ve made a colouring page. If you’d like to spend some time colouring in some cheeky sprites, click here to download the print-ready file!
